**Bruins Show Strong Interest in Jets’ Nikolaj Ehlers**
The Boston Bruins are closely eyeing Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers. Following a successful bridge year, the Bruins have over $20 million in cap space and are poised to make significant moves this summer.
A primary need for the Bruins is adding a top-six scoring winger to enhance their offensive threat. Ehlers, who has been rumored to be available, is seen as a prime target. According to The Fourth Period’s latest Trade Watch Board, the Bruins are among the teams linked to Ehlers.
Ehlers, 28, would be a strategic addition for the Bruins, who aim to strengthen their top-six lineup. This season, he tallied 25 goals, 61 points, and a plus-27 rating in 82 games, showcasing his consistent performance, having scored at least 20 goals in seven of his nine NHL seasons.
If acquired, Ehlers could play alongside David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha and bolster the Bruins’ power play with his scoring prowess.
However, the Bruins face competition from several teams also interested in Ehlers, including the New York Islanders, Carolina Hurricanes, Seattle Kraken, Ottawa Senators, and Nashville Predators. The Bruins will need to outmaneuver these contenders to secure Ehlers’ services.
