If the Raiders are sellers at the deadline, would they ever consider moving a star player?
After securing the position as interim head coach the previous season, Antonio Pierce will have a fascinating squad to watch in the Las Vegas Raiders. The talented Raiders team is led by standout pass rusher Maxx Crosby.
However, the Las Vegas Raiders may find themselves sellers at the NFL trade deadline if they don’t start the season well.
Regarding the Raiders’ impending campaign, NFL analyst Albert Breer made a suggestion that he might envision a situation in which the team is a seller at the deadline. Additionally, he said that they would accept calls regarding the highly skilled pass rusher Maxx Crosby:
“I believe Crosby will back Pierce.” It remains to be seen if players such as him, Adams, or Kolton Miller could be used as trade bait by the deadline in late October.
Regarding that, the question is how long the Raiders can stay in the race in a competitive AFC West. Indeed, throughout Pierce’s nine games last season, they finished 5-4. It’s one of the reasons he was hired. However, carrying it out in a full calendar year and doing that (you could argue they grabbed a number of teams at just the right time) are two very different things.

Throughout his Raiders career, Crosby has been linked to trade speculations on a few occasions, but the organization has never actually dealt him. Additionally, he has remained devoted to the team and supported Pierce’s appointment as head coach.
Crosby just finished a fantastic season with the Raiders, earning 14.5 sacks and being selected to the Pro Bowl once more.
He currently has three more seasons left on his contract with the Raiders through the 2026 campaign. In addition, the Las Vegas Raiders will have to consider his enormous cap costs for the next three seasons while making any decisions regarding him. Furthermore, he has made it clear that he intends to stay in Las Vegas permanently.
Is it even worth it for the Las Vegas Raiders to trade Maxx Crosby?
Maxx Crosby is without a doubt the finest player on the Las Vegas Raiders roster, but would a large trade package make sense for him? It appears as though the Raiders would like to move wide receiver Davante Adams if they decide to be sellers at the trade deadline. In addition, the Raiders might try to expedite this reconstruction by offering him a nice trade deal.

The Raiders have chosen not to trade for a quarterback or even go higher in the draft to acquire one, instead starting this season with Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew. If they truly want to be a contender in the AFC or even in their own division, they will eventually need to work out the position.
