**Cowboys Sign Former Texans Cornerback**
Last season, as the NFL playoffs approached, the Dallas Cowboys secured the second seed in the NFC, looking formidable alongside the San Francisco 49ers, who eventually made it to the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite an impressive regular season featuring an MVP-level performance from quarterback Dak Prescott, the Cowboys were unexpectedly routed by the rising Green Bay Packers, led by Jordan Love, in a decisive playoff loss.
This disappointing playoff exit intensified the frustration of Cowboys fans, who have grown weary of the team’s postseason struggles under Prescott.
Facing mounting pressure, team owner Jerry Jones pledged offseason changes. However, the Cowboys remained largely inactive, further frustrating their supporters.
On Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Dallas took a step by signing former Houston Texans cornerback Gareon Conley.
Conley’s addition to the secondary is modest, given he hasn’t played since 2019 when he was with the Oakland Raiders and the Texans. Once a highly regarded prospect, Conley was the Raiders’ first-round pick in 2017 but has struggled to make an impact in the NFL.
Nevertheless, Conley will have an opportunity to prove himself during the Cowboys’ training camp and potentially earn a spot on the roster.
