Official Longhorns News: Another Highly Rated Top Sensational Player Commits To Texas Longhorns Football Team

**Meet Dia Bell, the Texas Longhorns’ New Elite Quarterback Recruit**

A verbal commitment doesn’t equate to a signed letter of intent, but Texas appears secure at the quarterback position for the coming years.

On Monday, the Longhorns received a commitment from Dia Bell, the No. 2 ranked high school quarterback in the Class of 2026, according to ESPN and 247Sports.

Currently, Texas boasts Quinn Ewers, the EA Sports College Football 25 cover athlete, as their quarterback for this season, with highly touted Arch Manning, the top high school recruit in the Class of 2023, ready to follow. Additionally, Cy-Fair’s Trey Owens, a four-star quarterback from the Class of 2024, has already made an impression during the spring game in April. Another future addition is K.J. Lacy, a four-star recruit from Saraland, Alabama, who committed to Texas last summer as part of the Class of 2025.

Dia Bell is the eldest son of 12-year NBA veteran Raja Bell, renowned for his elite defense and memorable battles with Kobe Bryant during his time with the Suns. Notably, Dia was born just six hours before Game 5 of the Suns-Lakers first-round playoff series in 2007, a game the Suns won to finish off the Lakers, despite Bryant shooting 13-for-33 in the loss.

Raja Bell expressed his gratitude on social media, saying, “As a family we are so very grateful for this incredible opportunity with @TexasFootball. We also met some amazing people from other schools on this journey. You all were kind and generous and made us all feel welcome. Our family THANKS ALL OF YOU for your belief in our son Dia!”
