Sad News: Top Talented Tennessee Volunteers Football Star Depart Vols Football Team

Shamar Arnoux Decommits from Tennessee

Shamar Arnoux, a three-star cornerback from Carrollton, Georgia, decommitted from the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday evening. Despite Tennessee’s successful recruiting efforts for the 2025 class, Arnoux, the first commit for that class, decided to reopen his recruitment. Arnoux, who previously played with Vols corner commits Dylan Lewis and Tyler Redmond, announced his decision after visiting the University of Georgia.

Arnoux’s visit to Georgia was notable as he toured with his current high school teammate, USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis. Following the visit, Arnoux posted on social media about the experience, captioning a picture with, “This visit hit different.”

The decommitment came during a significant recruiting weekend for Tennessee, which hosted top targets like Cameron Sparks and Ethan Utley. It is unusual for a committed player to visit another school during such an event, raising questions at the time. Despite Arnoux’s departure, Tennessee still has a strong recruiting class, ranked No. 11 in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, with several top defensive back prospects still on their radar.
