**Kansas State Transfer Arthur Kaluma to Visit Texas Next Week**

Texas is eyeing one of the top available transfer forwards, redshirt sophomore Arthur Kaluma, early this summer. According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, former Kansas State forward Arthur Kaluma plans to visit Texas basketball next week, following a recent visit to the SMU Mustangs.

**Kaluma to Visit Texas in Late June**

Kaluma, who has two years of eligibility left, is set to visit Texas early next week. Last season at Kansas State, he averaged 14.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over 33 games, starting in 32 of them.

**Kaluma’s Collegiate Career**

The 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward from Boston, MA, began his collegiate career with the Creighton Blue Jays, where he spent two years. At Creighton, he earned 2022 All-Big East Tournament and Big East All-Freshman Team honors, averaging 11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 68 games.

**Transfer Portal Status**

Kaluma is among the top forwards in the transfer portal, ranked as the No. 13 transfer small forward by the 247Sports Composite. The spring transfer portal window closed for new entrants (excluding grad transfers) on May 1.

**Draft and Transfer Decision**

Kaluma had entered the NBA Draft early when he announced his transfer portal intentions on April 23, 2024. He later withdrew from the NBA Draft pool before the May 31 deadline.

**Texas’ Roster and Recruitment**

Texas and head coach Rodney Terry have one scholarship spot left for the 2024-25 season. The team is seeking an impact player for the frontcourt to add depth and experience. Recently, Texas added former Vanderbilt Commodores three-star center commit Jamie Vinson, filling its 12th scholarship spot for the upcoming season.
