2025 Linebacker Maguire Richman Commits to Kansas State
Kansas State secured a significant commitment from Maguire Richman, one of the top high school football players in the Kansas City metro area. Initially, Iowa seemed to be the biggest contender for Richman, especially with a visit scheduled to Iowa City. However, after an official visit to Manhattan, Richman decided to join the Wildcats instead of teaming up with his older brother, Mason Richman, at Iowa.
In March, Richman shared his reasons for choosing K-State with 247Sports’ Allen Trieu: “The history of developing players, recruiting and playing Kansas players, and also coaching stability is exciting along with the proximity.”
Richman, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from Blue Valley High School, continues the tradition of Blue Valley alumni like Beau Palmer, Sterling Lockett, Andre Davis, and John Price heading to K-State. According to Blue Valley head coach Allen Terrell, Richman is one of the most complete players he has coached, praised for his versatility and accomplishments on the field.
Richman has been recognized by GoPowercat as “one of the more lethal, local tacklers in his class.” His toughness and tenacity are evident, similar to his collegiate brother. Richman had an impressive junior season, recording 132 tackles (96 solo), 11 tackles for loss, six quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, one interception, and one sack. His team reached the 6A semi-finals, and his offensive contributions as a blocking tight end and kicking specialist earned him a Simone Award Finalist nomination. Notably, he kicked a 50-yard field goal last season.
Despite visits to Memphis and Tulsa, Richman found his home at K-State, which was the only Power 5 program to offer him a spot last March. This commitment marks K-State’s ninth for this recruiting cycle and the fifth prospect rated within the Top 125 at their position nationally.
