Auburn Tigers News: AU lands late transfer, RB commit is recruiting these prospects

Auburn football welcomes a late transfer, and a commit to running back is enticing others to join him on the Plains, according to today’s Auburn Tigers News.
The Auburn football team welcomed defensive back transfer Jahquez Robinson over the weekend. Robinson, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, played three seasons as a student at Alabama before transferring to Colorado prior to the 2017–18 season.

Robinson was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and was ranked as the number twenty-one cornerback in the 2020 recruiting class. Charles Kelly, the associate defensive coordinator at the time, lured him to Tuscaloosa, and Robinson later followed Kelly to Colorado. Robinson will now play on the Plains for Kelly wearing orange and blue.

During his Colorado 2023 season, Robinson tallied eight tackles and one interception. With so much of the secondary gone, he mostly joins the Tigers as a depth piece with two years left on his eligibility.
Running back pledge to enlist teammates on the Plains

Over the weekend, 4-star running back Alvin Henderson committed to the Tigers as well. Henderson, an avid supporter of Auburn football, announced in April that he had committed to Penn State, but he also stated that head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers never gave up.

The running back expressed how much the Tigers’ relentless recruiting efforts meant to him and how nice it feels to have made a decision and closed the door on his recruitment. In fact, Auburn Undercover reports that the running back’s current priorities are to attract more elite players to the Plains. Elijah Menendez, a 4-star linebacker who is presently committed to Miami, is on Henderson’s list along with defensive backs Blake Woodby and Anquon Fegans.

“that’s dedicated to Miami,” Henderson remarked in reference to his main goals. “For a split second, I was Miami’s top recruit. When I thought of them, I was able to connect with him… Several guys are present. Auburn will be taken care of by us in-state guys. Our primary objective is to find people who are either committed to our school or are thinking about switching.”
There are now 16 commits in the Tigers’ 2025 recruiting class, and they are ranked
