Done Deal: Just In Dallas Mavericks Confirm To Reach Mutual Agreement To Sign Top Highly Rated Blazers star

Rumors: Mavericks Eyeing Blockbuster Trade for Blazers Star

The Dallas Mavericks are in the midst of a pivotal offseason, looking to bolster their roster around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving following their five-game loss to the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals.

While Mavs GM Nico Harrison believes the core team is set for the next season, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of trades to enhance the squad.

Recently, Dallas has been linked with Tobias Harris from the Philadelphia 76ers. Now, their attention

has shifted to another potential trade target: Jerami Grant of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Mavericks Interested in Jerami Grant

According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Mavericks have shown interest in Jerami Grant’s situation in Portland. The Mavs were keen on Grant during last season’s trade deadline and continue to pursue him for the upcoming season. Last season, Grant averaged 21.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 0.8 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 45.1% from the field and 40.1% from three-point range.

Grant has emerged as a star in recent seasons, and acquiring him would be a blockbuster move that could push Dallas to the top of the Western Conference. His ability to hit shots off the catch, drive to the basket, and create his own shots makes him an attractive addition. Moreover, Grant has shown potential as a strong defender, fitting seamlessly into Dallas’ starting lineup alongside Irving, Doncic, P.J. Washington, and Daniel Gafford.

The Mavs have a pressing need for a reliable shooter, and trading for Grant would allow Derrick Jones Jr. to move to the bench (if re-signed). Retaining Jones Jr. is a priority for Dallas, and adding another shooter to complement Doncic and Irving is crucial. Although Washington displayed promising shooting during the playoffs, particularly in the second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Mavs need a proven shooter.

Starting the next season with two inconsistent shooters in Jones Jr. and Washington may not be ideal, despite their lineup leading to the NBA Finals. Acquiring Grant from the Blazers would significantly enhance Dallas’ roster.
