ESPN Sad News: Cleveland Browns Hits With Major Set backs As Another Top Experienced Fans Favorite Star Leaves Browns

Browns Release Player Following Recent Arrest

As the 2023 NFL season approached, the Cleveland Browns were optimistic about improving their performance with a healthy Deshaun Watson at quarterback.

However, Watson’s season was cut short again after just six games due to injury. Despite his absence, the Browns had a remarkable run, thanks to a resurgence from veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, leading to an unexpected playoff berth.

Although their postseason ended with a disappointing loss to the Houston Texans, the Browns showcased resilience and a promising outlook for the future.

Regrettably, defensive end Lonnie Phelps will not be part of that future. Phelps was arrested for drunk driving earlier this week after crashing his SUV into a restaurant in Florida. This incident led the Browns to waive him on Thursday, as reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

While Phelps’ release marks an unfortunate event, it does not significantly impact the team beyond generating some negative press.

The Browns are now focused on preparing for training camp, which begins next month, as they aim for an intriguing 2024 season.
