Latest News: Just In LSU Tigers Confirm Major Blow With Another Top Talented LSU Football 5-Star Decommits

**LSU Football Hit with 2025 Recruiting Setback After 4-Star CB Decommits**

Another setback for LSU football.

The LSU Tigers have lost a player who had previously verbally committed to their program. Jaboree Antoine, a four-star defensive back from New Iberia, Louisiana, has reportedly withdrawn his commitment from LSU, as reported by Eli Lederman of ESPN.

“Antoine, a versatile player at Westgate High in New Iberia, Louisiana, is ranked as the No. 6 cornerback in the 2025 class. His decommitment follows recent official visits to Miami and Florida State. The 6-foot-1 defensive back is expected to consider both schools, along with LSU, as he reopens his recruitment. Before Sunday, Antoine was the third-highest-rated prospect in the Tigers’ incoming class.”

Antoine, part of the 2025 class, has experience playing both offense and defense. Besides playing cornerback for Westgate High, he also started as a quarterback. He apparently decided to decommit from LSU after visiting the Miami Hurricanes and the Florida State Seminoles, who now seem to be his top choices along with LSU. Antoine stated these two schools are where he’s “focused on moving forward,” according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Antoine is ranked 61st overall in the 2025 class by On3, 136th by 247 Sports, 47th by ESPN 300, and 95th by Rivals. He is also ranked second among Louisiana 2025 prospects by all but one of these media outlets, with 247 Sports placing him third overall in the state.

According to Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports, Antoine had a standout season in 2022:

“2022: Played both quarterback and cornerback as a sophomore for Westgate, recording 32 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and 5 interceptions on defense while completing 105 of 186 pass attempts for 1,650 yards and 12 touchdowns on offense. Also rushed for 303 yards. Led his team to a 10-4 record and the semifinals of Louisiana’s Division 1 non-select playoffs.”

This marks the second time LSU has seen a top-tier 2025 recruit decommit, with five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore retracting his commitment last May. Moore is now expected to choose between the Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Before initially committing to LSU, Antoine had offers from several top programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, among others.

Despite this recent development, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class remains strong, currently ranked eighth by 247 Sports. The Tigers have 12 commitments, including two five-star and nine four-star recruits.

In the 2023 college football season, LSU, under head coach Brian Kelly, went 10-3 and reached as high as No. 1 in the Associated Press poll.
