Good News: Just In Dallas Stars Confirm Another Important Signing Of Top Experienced Star To Bolster Squad

**Dallas Stars Re-sign Oskar Back to One-Year Deal**

The Dallas Stars have re-signed forward Oskar Back to a one-year contract valued at $775,000 in the NHL.

The 24-year-old recently concluded his NHL entry-level contract with a cap hit of $851,000. According to PuckPedia, his qualifying offer was set at $813,750.

Back has spent the past three seasons with the AHL’s Texas Stars, where he scored seven goals and 36 points in 59 games last season, marking his best performance yet after seasons of 25 and 27 points. He also recorded five points in each of the past two playoff runs with Texas.

Selected 75th overall by the Stars in the 2018 draft, Back played three seasons with Farjestad in the SHL, achieving a career-best 14 points in 52 games in the 2020-21 season. He has also represented Sweden in various international events, including the U-18 World Championships in 2017 and 2018 and the World Juniors in 2019 and 2020.

Back is considered a depth forward who might be called up in case of injuries but is expected to stay in the AHL for the majority of the season. Known as a solid playmaker, Back is also a defensive center with a sturdy 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame.

According to CapFriendly, the Stars have a projected $16.246 million in cap space for 2024-25. Joe Pavelski is not expected to play in the 2024-25 season, while Matt Duchene, Craig Smith, Jani Hakanpaa, Derrick Pouliot, Scott Wedgewood, and Chris Tanev are set to become unrestricted free agents.

In the minors, Nicholas Caamano, Frederik Karlstrom, and Scott Reedy will become Group 6 UFAs, while Gavin Bayreuther and Alex Petrovic will be standard UFAs. On the RFA front, Sam Steel, Thomas Harley, Nils Lundkvist, and Matt Murray are all seeking new contracts for the 2024-25 season.

The Stars, who lost to the Edmonton Oilers in six games in the Western Conference Final earlier this year, are expected to be strong contenders for the Stanley Cup in the 2024-25 season.
