Good News: Just In Texas Longhorns Confirm To Win Battle Over SEC Rivals To Commitment Of Another Top Highly Talented 5-Star WR

Five-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett is set to make his college decision on August 7th. The highly sought-after Sachse (TX) prospect will choose between Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Lockett is ranked as the third-best wide receiver and the 17th overall prospect in the nation according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Steve Sarkisian and his staff at Texas have been heavily pursuing Lockett, along with other top wide receiver prospects Dakorien Moore and Jaime Ffrench. It now appears all three may announce their decisions at different points in August.

Lockett had an impressive junior season with 59 receptions, 1299 yards, and 13 touchdowns, solidifying his status as one of the top receivers in the country. The possibility of Lockett, Moore, and Ffrench all committing to Texas could form one of the highest-ranked wide receiver trios to ever sign with a single school.

Competition for Lockett has been intense, with all finalist schools receiving official visits. Texas had the advantage of hosting Lockett for his final visit last weekend. Schools now have just over a month to make their final pitches before Lockett’s decision on August 7th.
