Official NBA News: Jason Kidd Confirm Dallas Mavericks In Talk To Trade Out $150 Million Super Star

In recent NBA rumors, the Washington Wizards have emerged as a potential trade destination for Tim Hardaway Jr. Over the past few years, Hardaway Jr. has seen reduced playing time with the Dallas Mavericks, as head coach Jason Kidd has favored younger players. The arrivals of Kyrie Irving and the continued rise of Luka Doncic have further limited his role. Now, it appears that Hardaway Jr. may be on the move, with the Wizards showing strong interest.

Other teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons, have also expressed interest in Hardaway Jr. According to Marc Stein, the Wizards are the latest contender.

The strong relationship between the Mavericks and Wizards front offices, recently seen in the trade involving Daniel Gafford and Richaun Holmes along with a 2024 first-round pick, could facilitate this potential trade.

Despite his diminished role, Hardaway Jr. has proven he can still contribute effectively when given the right minutes. Last season, he averaged 14.4 points per game with a shooting percentage of 40.2%, including 35.3% from three-point range. His durability is also a significant asset, having played in 79 games last season.

The Mavericks’ focus on Irving and Doncic’s style of play has marginalized Hardaway Jr.’s contributions. His scoring dipped to 8.6 points per game on 35.9% shooting after the trade deadline, and further to 4.4 points per game in the postseason. Even Hardaway Jr.’s father has voiced frustration, expressing a desire for a new opportunity for his son.

The Wizards, in need of veteran presence to support their young core, could provide the fresh start Hardaway Jr. seeks.
