**Rising In-State WR Standout Landon Roldan Commits to Georgia over Georgia Tech**
Landon Roldan, a promising receiver from North Oconee (Ga.), recently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs after receiving an offer. The Bulldogs have been a significant name in Roldan’s life, as he has grown up as a fan of the team.
Roldan has been a standout local prospect for years, but only recently did he attract attention from Georgia. His impressive performance at a recent camp and a private workout with the offensive coaches led to a Georgia offer in mid-June.
Less than two weeks later, Roldan committed to Georgia on Thursday, shortly after his official visit. He informed the Georgia coaches of his decision on Tuesday.
“I knew it was Georgia two days ago. Once I called Coach [Mike] Bobo, [James] Coley, and [Kirby] Smart, their reactions were amazing,” Roldan told Dawgs247. “They were just thrilled for me to be part of the family.”
Roldan, who has always dreamed of playing for Georgia, is excited to join his dream school. “I knew UGA was the right choice because it had been my dream school ever since I was young,” he said. “It’s great being a local player and being able to play for the local team. My whole family are Georgia fans, so being able to play for the family’s dream team is great.”
The 6-foot, 180-pound athlete is projected to play wide receiver at Georgia. His workout for the Bulldogs was closely evaluated by Kirby Smart, Mike Bobo, and James Coley. Coach Smart personally extended the offer to Roldan, emphasizing how much the Bulldogs wanted him.
“Coach Smart pulled me aside and said, ‘We’re going to offer you.’ I was pretty excited, pumped up about it,” Roldan said. “They’ve been my school since I was younger, so I was just pretty excited.”
Roldan’s commitment represents a win for the Bulldogs in their rivalry with Georgia Tech. Initially, Roldan had been leaning towards Georgia Tech after a visit there earlier this month. However, after receiving the offer from Georgia and making an official visit to Atlanta, the Bulldogs quickly gained the upper hand in his recruitment.
Roldan is ranked as a 3-star prospect in the 247Sports recruiting rankings, placing him as the No. 44 player in Georgia and the No. 63 wide receiver nationally. He also has a strong baseball background, including a 6.65-second 60-yard dash and a sub-4.4 40-yard dash at the Georgia camp on May 30.
With Roldan’s commitment, Georgia now has four wide receiver commitments in the 2025 recruiting class, joining Thomas Blackshear, Talyn Taylor, and Tyler Williams. Georgia remains at No. 3 in the 247Sports team rankings with 17 commitments overall in the 2025 class.
