Former USC defensive back Ceyair Wright has announced his transfer to Nebraska, as reported to ESPN. Wright, who started 15 games for the Trojans over the past two seasons and appeared in 23 games overall, has recorded six pass breakups and one interception. Additionally, he has garnered attention for his acting career.
Wright will join a Nebraska team that finished in the top 15 for both total defense and scoring defense last season under coordinator Tony White. The Cornhuskers return seven defensive starters and ten on offense, raising high expectations for the 2024 season following a 5-7 record in Matt Rhule’s first year as head coach.
Expressing his reasons for choosing Nebraska, Wright told ESPN, “The thing that caught my attention was how much all the coaches poured into me. Everyone was invested in me to elevate me as a person and player.”
A former top 110 recruit in ESPN’s 2021 class rankings, Wright has two seasons of eligibility remaining at Nebraska after redshirting his 2021 season. He started 11 games in 2022. In addition to his football career, Wright has been successful as an actor and model, appearing in TV shows like “2 Broke Girls” and “Training Day.” He is best known for his role as LeBron James’ son in the 2021 film “Space Jam: A New Legacy.”
