Sad News: Just In Auburn Faced With Major Blow As Another Top Talented 5-Star Decommits Auburn Tigers

**Auburn Tigers News: 5-Star OT Decommits, Bruce Pearl Discusses Aden Holloway’s Transfer**

In the latest Auburn Tigers news, the football team loses a key in-state recruit, and Bruce Pearl comments on Aden Holloway’s transfer to Alabama.

Earlier this year, 5-star offensive tackle Carde Smith from Mobile, Alabama, committed to Auburn. However, after a recent visit to USC, Smith has withdrawn his commitment. Ranked as the #26 OT in the 2025 class and the #15 recruit from Alabama, Smith had originally chosen Auburn over Florida State and Mississippi State. Despite this setback, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class remains strong with 15 commitments, ranked #6 nationally.

Meanwhile, Auburn basketball faces the impact of freshman Aden Holloway’s transfer to Alabama. After a promising start, Holloway’s performance declined during SEC play. His move to a rival team is seen as a significant loss, although Auburn might not feel the same. Holloway, who averaged 7.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, expressed dissatisfaction with his Auburn experience, stating he was “sold a dream.”

Bruce Pearl was asked about Holloway’s transfer and its effect on the Auburn-Alabama rivalry. Pearl likened the situation to Auburn’s quarterback transferring to Alabama, suggesting it would intensify the rivalry and make it even more compelling.
