ESPN Report: Just In Pat Riley Confirm To Reach Contract Extension With Another Top Experienced Miami Heat Star

Full Details of Kevin Love’s New Contract with Miami Heat Revealed

Kevin Love and the Miami Heat have agreed on a new two-year, $8 million contract, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The deal secures Love’s place in Miami for another two seasons. He opted out of his $4 million contract for the upcoming season with the aim of signing a longer-term deal with the Heat.

At 35, Love averaged 8.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 16.8 minutes per game last season, mainly serving as the backup center behind Bam Adebayo. Love and star player Jimmy Butler, who plans to return next season, developed strong on-court chemistry during these minutes.

Since joining the Heat in 2023 after a buyout agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Love has become a valued locker-room presence and respected veteran over his 1 ½ seasons in Miami.

Previously, Love had a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option for the 2024-25 season. The new contract does not include a player option for the second season, allowing Love the opportunity to play until he is 37 years old.
