Top Talented Highly Rated 5-Star Announced On His Personal Social Media That He Would Be Decommitting From The Alabama Football

**Official BAMA News: Major Setback for Alabama as Another Top Recruit Leaves Team**

Top 2024 wide receiver Ryan Williams has announced his decommitment from the Alabama Crimson Tide following Nick Saban’s retirement, signaling the start of roster changes for Alabama football.

Williams, a standout from Saraland, attributed his decision to the departures of Saban and former wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins, according to a report by On3.

Williams initially committed to Alabama in October 2022 but did not sign during the early signing period in December. Auburn has remained a strong contender for his recruitment throughout this period.

The in-state receiver from Saraland High School, honored as the Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football for Alabama, reclassified from the 2025 class and plans to sign on his birthday, February 9.

In his recent season, Williams recorded 72 catches for 1,324 yards and 19 touchdowns, along with 261 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 30 carries for the Class 6A runners-up.

Re-recruiting Williams will be a priority for Alabama’s new coach, as Williams is now seriously considering their major rival, the Auburn Tigers.
