LSU Football Recruiting Loses Top Louisiana-Based Defender
Less than ideal news for LSU’s 2025 recruiting class!
After securing four commitments in the last four days, LSU football recruiting faced a setback as top Louisiana-based cornerback Jaboree Antoine announced his decommitment.
Five-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine had initially committed to coach Brian Kelly and LSU on January 27, nearly six months ago. Though warmly welcomed, Antoine’s commitment did not stop other programs from pursuing him.
Antoine continued to visit other schools, including prominent programs like Florida State and Miami, with his latest visit to the Seminoles occurring just over a week ago.
These visits have led Antoine to reconsider his options, resulting in his announcement to decommit from LSU earlier this evening.
While losing a top recruit is never ideal, it’s important to note that LSU is still in the running. Antoine mentioned in his decommitment post that he is still considering LSU, along with Florida State and Miami.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Antoine is ranked as the No. 61 player nationally by On3 and No. 6 among cornerbacks.
With Antoine’s decommitment, the Tigers now have three defensive pledges, with four-star linebacker Charles Ross leading the group. Despite this setback, LSU’s 2025 class remains highly ranked, sitting at No. 2 overall and No. 1 in the SEC.
