GoodNews: Just In Raptors Confirm The Signing Of Another Highly Rated Star

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, veteran swingman Garrett Temple will be joining the Raptors again for the 2024–2025 season. Wojnarowski reports (via Twitter) that Temple’s contract will be for one year.

Although Wojnarowski’s article doesn’t go into any information about the deal, it would be shocking if Temple agreed to a wage that was greater than the veteran’s minimum.

Temple, 38, spent 13 NBA seasons as a player for 11 different clubs until signing a free agent contract with Toronto last summer. In just 27 games, he averaged 10.7 minutes, 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists while playing a limited role for the Raptors.

Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca (Twitter links) notes that although Temple’s on-court contributions were little, he was a “important voice in the locker room” for the youthful Raptors. Temple will have a “crucial” role behind the scenes as the team appears ready to go even younger after selecting four prospects last week, according to Lewenberg.

Temple has averaged 6.1 PPG, 2.3 RPG, and 1.7 APG in 743 regular season games throughout his 14-year NBA career. He is a National Basketball Players Association vice president.
