Five-Star Tight End Hollis Davidson Commits to Auburn Over FSU
The tight end prospects for the Florida State Seminoles are narrowing. FSU aims to add two tight ends to its 2025 class to address a roster weakness but will need to broaden their recruiting search this fall.
On Saturday, three-star tight end Hollis Davidson committed to Auburn, choosing them over Florida State. Davidson had previously listed FSU in his top two along with Auburn just a week earlier.
FSU had been pursuing Davidson since offering him a scholarship last fall. He visited Tallahassee three times this offseason, including an official visit at the end of June. Despite Davidson’s initial commitment to Auburn in February, FSU continued to show interest. It remains to be seen if they will persist or move on.
Davidson, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 238 pounds, had a strong junior season with 30 catches for 436 yards and three touchdowns, helping McIntosh High School reach the playoffs. He also plays soccer at the high school level. According to 247Sports, he is ranked as the No. 422 overall prospect, the No. 24 tight end, and the No. 48 recruit in Georgia for the 2025 class.
Florida State currently holds nine verbal commitments in their #Tribe25 class, which ranks No. 39 nationally. Last weekend, they secured four-star tight end Chase Loftin over Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Missouri.
