Official Vols News: Josh Heupel Confirm Major Boost With The Commitment Of Another Top Talented 5-Star Georgia Star

Tennessee football, under coach Josh Heupel, has been making significant strides in recruiting. Recently, they secured a commitment from five-star offensive lineman Douglas Utu from Las Vegas, Nevada, boosting their 2025 recruiting class into the top 15. Utu is the 16th commit and seventh four-star recruit in the class. Despite the typically slow summer months, Tennessee’s recruiting momentum remains strong.

Chad Simmons of On3 Recruiting predicts that four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte might flip his commitment from Georgia to Tennessee. Perlotte, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound linebacker, has been committed to Georgia since December 8, 2022. However, the Vols, along with other programs, are gaining ground.

Perlotte recently shared a photo of himself in Tennessee colors holding the BCS National Championship Coaches’ Trophy, hinting at a possible change. On3 ranks Perlotte as the No. 160 player nationally, No. 16 linebacker, and No. 22 player in Georgia. Previously, On3 predicted he would flip to Florida State, but he remained committed to Georgia.

Tennessee entered Perlotte’s recruitment in June when he visited their campus on June 14. He also visited Georgia afterward but is now expected to switch to Tennessee. If Perlotte commits to Tennessee, it would be a significant first recruit for their new linebackers coach, William Inge, who joined from Alabama. Securing Perlotte, a top-15 linebacker and top-200 player nationally, would be a strong start for Inge’s recruiting efforts.
