Done Deal: Just In Milwaukee Bucks Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Highly Rated International Prospect

Bucks Sign Promising International Prospect Devine Eke

The Milwaukee Bucks have secured a highly regarded international player, adding Nigerian forward Devine Eke from the Rivers Hoopers to their roster. With high expectations for the 2024-25 season after last year’s disappointing finish, the Bucks aim to strengthen their team amidst competition from improved rosters like the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks, as well as the reigning champions, the Boston Celtics.

Eke, who garnered interest from several NBA teams, including the Dallas Mavericks, chose to join the Bucks’ summer league team, as reported by ESPN. His impressive performance in the 2024 Basketball Africa League, where he averaged 16.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, caught the attention of the NBA. This move gives Eke an opportunity to impress Bucks management and potentially bolster their frontcourt with his athleticism.

Eke, a cousin to WNBA stars Chiney and Nneka Ogwumike, expressed his excitement about joining the Bucks and competing in the Summer League. “I heard great things about the Bucks and the people at the organization. [My goal for Summer League] is just trying to contribute to my team winning,” he said.

Though Eke has not yet played in the NBA, he brings experience from professional basketball in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Bosnia, and the Nigerian national team. The Bucks’ decision to sign Eke aligns with their strategy to get younger and more athletic this offseason. Eke will have the chance to prove his worth and secure a spot on the roster.

Eke will make his summer league debut on July 13 against the Chicago Bulls, with additional games scheduled against the Cleveland Cavaliers, LA Clippers, and Phoenix Suns over six days.
