Good News: Just In Another Top Talented Star Re-sign With Texans

Jerry Hughes, a defensive end, was signed by the Houston Texans via free agency to further bolster their defensive line.
With less than two weeks until the start of training camp, the Houston Texans are still adding players to their defensive line. Jerry Hughes, an experienced defensive end, has been re-signed by the Texans, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

For his third season with the Texans, Hughes will be back. In the months since his May 2022 signing, he has amassed 67 tackles, 13 quarterback hits, and 12.0 sacks with the team from his birthplace.
Hughes had his greatest season on his debut with the team. With 35 tackles, 10 quarterback hits, and 9.0 sacks, he cemented his position as maybe the team’s greatest pass rusher. In 2023, Hughes participated in two games. His logic was still a mystery.

Hughes’ arrival may make the defensive line the Texans’ best position group going into training camp. They acquired Danielle Hunter, one of the best free-agency acquisitions in the league. Denico Autry and Folorunso Fatukasi were also added by the Texans to team up with Will Anderson Jr., the current Defensive Player of the Year.

In 2010, Hughes was selected by the Indianapolis Colts with the 31st overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. After being traded from the Colts in August 2013, he later played for the Buffalo Bills. In his career, Hughes has racked up 70.0 sacks.
