**Bruins Eye Former Top Prospect for Depth**
The Boston Bruins’ lineup for the 2024-25 season looks strong, especially after acquiring first-line center Elias Lindholm and strengthening their top four with Nikita Zadorov. However, they’ve lost several wingers and need more forward depth.
With Jeremy Swayman still unsigned, the Bruins might need to seek bargain players to fill their roster. One notable free agent is Filip Zadina, a former top prospect.
Selected sixth overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2018, Zadina, 24, hasn’t reached his expected potential as a top-six forward but could be a valuable, affordable addition on a one-year deal. Last season with the San Jose Sharks, he scored 13 goals and 23 points in 72 games. Playing for the Bruins, with their stronger offensive lineup, might boost his performance, similar to how Pavel Zacha improved after joining Boston.
Signing Zadina would add another option for the Bruins’ NHL roster. At only 24, he still has room for development, making him a low-risk, potentially high-reward signing.
