**Ashton Moore Commits to Kansas State Football**
Kansas State football secured a commitment from Ashton Moore on Wednesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Kansas State linebacker Austin Moore represented the Wildcats at Big 12 Media Days, discussing the team’s culture and the success of in-state athletes. Austin Moore epitomizes Kansas State football’s reputation for hard-working, blue-collar players who become all-conference honorees. As a walk-on from Louisburg, Austin opted to return for his final season in Manhattan. However, with Wednesday’s news, 2024 will not be the last year a Moore plays for Kansas State.
Ashton Moore, Austin’s brother, announced his commitment to Kansas State on Wednesday afternoon, tweeting:
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to Kansas State University! Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates and everyone who has supported me along the way, especially the Louisburg community. Go Cats!”
After a successful camp at Kansas State in June, Moore received his first offer from the Wildcats, quickly placing them at the top of his list. Speaking to GoPowercat after earning the offer, Moore expressed his gratitude:
“It means a lot to me,” Moore said of the scholarship opportunity. “This has been a goal of mine for a long time, and to be here now and see that the hard work paid off is a great feeling,” he said in June.
Moore chose the Wildcats over offers from Penn and Illinois State. Once Kansas State extended their offer, it was only a matter of time before Moore committed. He shared with GoPowercat that his older brother Austin was instrumental in his decision, advocating for Kansas State throughout his recruitment.
“Austin has been really helpful in the whole process and very open toward all schools, but he’s definitely shown some favoritism towards K-State. There’s a stronger bond with the coaching staff here than anywhere else,” Ashton said.
Currently unranked by 247Sports and not listed in the state’s top 15 players, Moore is expected to rise in the next evaluation period.
Standing at 6 feet, 200 pounds, Moore excelled at Louisburg High School. As a junior, he was named Frontier League 1st Team on both offense and defense, leading the Wildcats to a 9-1 record and an undefeated conference season. He recorded 125 tackles, including eight for loss, forced four fumbles, and had two sacks. Offensively, Moore rushed for over 1,000 yards (averaging over 7 YPC) with 18 touchdowns. His performance earned him 1st Team All-State honors in 4A and a finalist spot for the Bobby Bell Award, given annually to the best Class 1-4 offensive lineman/defensive lineman or linebacker in the Kansas City metro area.
Ashton Moore becomes the 15th player to commit to Kansas State’s 2025 class. Stay tuned to GoPowercat for more updates on Moore and the rest of the 2025 recruiting class.
