Florida State WR Transfers to HBCU Champs
Florida State wide receiver Goldie Lawrence is transferring to Florida A&M, the reigning HBCU national champions. Lawrence, a former four-star prospect, has committed to FAMU, the reigning SWAC and HBCU national champion. A standout at Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida, Lawrence brings impressive credentials, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 193 pounds. He amassed 92 catches, 1,495 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns in high school, marking him as one of the nation’s top prospects.
Lawrence appeared in one game for Florida State in the 2023 season before redshirting to preserve his eligibility. His high school success and ability to perform under pressure set high expectations for his future with the Seminoles. His redshirt year allowed him to adapt to the collegiate level, focusing on honing his skills and understanding FSU’s offensive strategies.
Lawrence will join a Florida A&M offense that will undergo changes in 2024. The team will be without head coach and play-caller Willie Simmons, who has moved to Duke, and quarterback Jeremy Moussa, who has exhausted his eligibility.
