Good News:Just In Another SEC Top Talented Star Commits To Miami Hurricanes

Miami Football’s Position Ahead of Jarquez Carter’s July 18 Commitment

There is a lot of conflicting information about four-star defensive tackle Jarquez Carter’s upcoming commitment announcement on July 18. The Miami football program is one of five finalists, alongside Central Florida, Florida, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Various media recruiting sites suggest that Florida, Miami, and Ohio State are the frontrunners for Carter, with Central Florida and Penn State trailing. Depending on the source, Florida, Miami, or Ohio State is projected to lead. Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U is the only 247Sports analyst to predict Carter will commit to Miami.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Florida a 67.9 percent chance of landing Carter, while Rivals.com’s Futurecast assigns a 67.0 percent chance to Ohio State. With eight days left until his decision, Carter’s recruitment remains open.

Carter visited all five finalist programs in June. According to 247Sports, he is the 396th overall prospect, the 42nd defensive lineman, and the 54th player in Florida. Brian Dohn of 247Sports quoted Carter, saying no one builds recruiting relationships better than Miami’s staff.

Florida has hosted Carter the most, with 13 visits, followed by Central Florida with seven, Florida State with five, and Miami with three. Analysts often advise following the visits to predict commitments.

Carter is among several key Miami targets announcing commitments next week. Five-star defensive back D.J. Pickett will announce on July 17, and four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine on July 20.

Miami currently holds the 10th-ranked 2025 recruiting class and has been very active, securing 12 commitments since June 8.
