**Alabama Secures Commitment from 5-Star OT Ty Haywood**
Alabama Crimson Tide’s football program continued its impressive recruiting streak by securing a commitment from Ty Haywood, a highly-touted five-star offensive tackle, on Sunday. This marks the second consecutive day that Alabama has landed a top 2025 prospect, following the commitment of Caleb Cunningham, who is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the class by the 247Sports composite rankings. Cunningham, hailing from Choctaw County High School in Ackerman, Mississippi, announced his decision on Saturday.
Ty Haywood, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, is recognized as the No. 2 offensive tackle and the No. 11 overall player in the 2025 class according to the composite rankings. Haywood plays for Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, and has shown exceptional promise and skill on the field. He made an official visit to Alabama on May 31, which was followed by visits to other top programs including Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Florida State.
The successful recruitment of Haywood highlights Alabama’s resilience and strength in recruiting during the transition from legendary head coach Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer. Despite the change in leadership, the Crimson Tide have maintained their status as a top destination for elite high school talent. With Haywood’s commitment, Alabama now boasts four five-star recruits in their 2025 class.
Currently, Alabama’s recruiting class is ranked No. 2 in the nation, closing in on the top spot held by Ohio State.
