Daylan McCutcheon, a four-star wide receiver in the class of 2025, has committed to Florida State.
Florida State’s recruiting class of 2025 includes some excellent newcomers. Eleven recruits committed to the Seminoles class after saying “yes” to the following:
Daylan McCutcheon, a four-star wide receiver from Lucas, Texas’ Lovejoy High School, joined the Seminoles on Saturday afternoon. McCutcheon picked Florida State over USC, Texas, Ohio State, and SMU.
The USC Trojans made a significant surge (NIL played a significant role in this). In the end, though, the Seminoles prevailed in his recruitment. Florida State managed to get McCutcheon’s final official visit during the historic June 21st weekend.
He talked about how seeing Florida State was the norm for all of his travels during the farewell meeting in Tallahassee with various media representatives. Despite coming from Texas, he had made several visits to the university.
The Seminoles could not afford to pass up on this prodigy, who in his junior year of 2023 caught 92 passes for 1,430 yards and 20 touchdowns. Five-star Kaliq Lockett, five-star Vernell Brown III, five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. (unrealistic), four-star Malik Clark, and four-star Koby Howard (FSU faded after pursuing him) were among the recruits on Florida State’s wide receiver board that would be difficult to pass up.
Fortunately, finding quality pieces for the program’s basis does not require Florida State to reset its entire target board. Ron Dugans, the wide receivers coach, now has two prospects, four-star Daylan McCutcheon and four-star CJ Wiley, who can serve as building stones for the upcoming recruiting class.
