**LSU Football Secures Commitment from 3-Star Safety Jhase Thomas**
Three-star safety Jhase Thomas has announced his commitment to LSU football.
Thomas, a 6-foot-1, 183-pound recruit from Destrehan High School in Louisiana, is ranked as the No. 531 player and the No. 46 safety in the Class of 2025 by the 247Sports Composite. He is also recognized as the No. 20 recruit in Louisiana.
Thomas had scholarship offers from Colorado, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Texas Tech.
His father, Fred Thomas, had a 12-season career in the NFL as a defensive back, playing four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and eight with the New Orleans Saints.
With Thomas’s commitment, LSU now has 16 players in its 2025 class, making him the only defensive back. Previously, four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine, the No. 2 recruit in Louisiana, was committed to LSU but withdrew his commitment in June. Antoine plans to announce his new commitment on July 20, with LSU, Miami, and Florida State as his finalists.
Before Thomas’s commitment, LSU’s recruiting class was ranked No. 6 nationally, behind Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Oregon.
