**Texas Rangers Select Malcolm Moore as First-Round Draft Pick**

FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth joined the excitement of All-Star Weekend by hosting the early rounds of the 2024 MLB Draft at the Cowtown Coliseum inside the Stockyards.

Numerous Texas Rangers players attended the event, celebrating as the defending World Champions. With the final pick of the first round, the Rangers selected catcher Malcolm Moore from Stanford University, 30th overall.

 

Moore is regarded as one of the top left-handed hitters in college baseball. “It’s an extreme honor to be drafted by such a great organization. I’m really looking forward to it and super happy how the day went,” Moore said.

In the second round, the Rangers picked outfielder Dylan Dreiling from the University of Tennessee. Dreiling was named the most outstanding player in this year’s College World Series.

The MLB Draft continues on Monday and Tuesday with a total of 22 rounds remaining.
