There will be a roster churn for Alabama football both on the present squad and in upcoming signing classes as a result of Nick Saban’s retirement.
Ryan Williams, a five-star wide receiver in 2024, is the first. The Saraland product declared that he will be leaving the Crimson Tide.
Williams attributed a lot of his decision to the departure of both former Alabama wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins and head coach Nick Saban, according to a report by On3.
Although Williams has been devoted to Alabama since October 2022, he did not formally sign a contract with the team in December during the early signing period. Auburn has continued to consider him a major target despite his commitment to Alabama.
The Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football for the state of Alabama is the Saraland High School in-state receiver. Williams, who reclassified from the 2025 class, intends to sign on his birthday, February 9.
He carried 30 times for 261 yards and seven scores for the Class 6A runners-up while hauling in 72 passes for 1324 yards and 19 touchdowns.
One of the new coach of the Crimson Tide’s top priorities will be to re-recruit Williams, as he is strongly considering a formidable opponent in the Auburn Tigers.
