The Green Bay Packers have positioned themselves to be strong contenders for an extended period of time. Despite being one of the newest clubs in the NFL, they are seen as a dark horse candidate this year for the Super Bowl.
The Packers shown this off-season that they are not scared to use free agency. Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney, maybe the two greatest free agents available this off-season for their respective positions, were signed by the organization.
On the other hand, a report claims that they will be welcoming a second mega star very soon.
The Green Bay Packers are the team that will sign him when he becomes a free agency following the season.
Higgins’ ability to be a top wide receiver in an offense will make him a target for many teams when he hits free agency. Though he will have options over where to sign, the Green Bay Packers are the most logical choice.
The Packers possess the elements necessary to get Higgins to sign. Jordan Love is undoubtedly a developing star quarterback with room to grow even more, even though he may not be Joe Burrow. Higgins would have a significant role in supporting that. With $47 million in cap space available in 2025, they can close the transaction with Higgins, which would also be necessary.
Higgins is the offensive receiver that Green Bay needs. Higgins would immediately fit in as their top threat—something they don’t have right now—and be Love’s first choice. In addition, his ability to box out defenders and threaten downfield make him even more appealing to sign.
The offense would benefit from having Higgins, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs in the receiving room, and Love would gain the assurance he needs going forward.
Entering the 2025–2026 NFL season, Tee Higgins will be 26 years old. The young narrative that appears to be there in Green Bay would undoubtedly match him if the Packers decide they need to make changes at wide out in the upcoming offseason.
But the Packers have a ton of depth at wide receiver right now. Bo Melton, Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs have all cemented themselves as members of the Packers’ offensive line.
Sure, Higgins probably isn’t as good as some of those players, but the front staff of the Packers has stated clearly that they want this bunch to stay together for a long time. After two years of getting along with Love, would the Packers want to retain their core group intact? or add another powerful weapon by bringing in a proven performer?
