ESPN Report: Just In Miami Heat Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Man

The Miami HEAT announced that Player Development Coach Dan Bisaccio will become the head coach of their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Meanwhile, former Skyforce head coach Kasib Powell will join Miami’s staff as a Player Development Coach.

Bisaccio is currently leading the HEAT’s Summer League team, achieving a 4-1 record, including a 2-1 stint during the California Classic in San Francisco and an undefeated 2-0 record in the NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas. He has been with the HEAT for the past 10 seasons, most recently as a Player Development Coach, where he mentored players and assisted the coaching staff on special projects. Previously, he served five seasons as Video Coordinator and four seasons as Assistant Video Coordinator, helping with film breakdown, scouting, statistical analysis, and game planning.

Bisaccio began with the HEAT as a video intern in the 2014-15 season and spent two seasons at Marquette University as a Graduate Assistant/Video Coordinator for the men’s basketball team before joining Miami.

Powell has been the head coach of the Skyforce for the past three seasons, leading the team to the playoffs in his last two campaigns, including the Western Conference Finals in 2023. His focus on player development resulted in an NBA-best 21 call-ups over his three seasons as head coach. Powell was initially hired in 2016 as an assistant coach for the Skyforce, a role he held for four seasons before his promotion. Inducted into the Skyforce Hall of Fame in April 2016, Powell also played two seasons (2007-09) with the Skyforce, earning the 2007-08 NBA G League MVP award. His nine-season professional playing career included stints in the NBA, NBA G League, CBA, USBL, and overseas.
