**Warriors Sign Summer League Standout to Two-Way Contract**
The NBA Summer League is a prime opportunity for emerging players to showcase their talent to teams, scouts, and fans. Daeqwon Plowden has seized this chance and is reaping the rewards.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Plowden has secured a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors. His impressive Summer League performance includes averaging 16.6 points, shooting 54% from the field, and 48% from beyond the arc.
Plowden likely clinched his contract with a standout performance on Sunday night, scoring 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range for the Warriors.
The 6’6″ player has spent the last two years in the G League, playing for the affiliate teams of New Orleans and Orlando, where he established himself as a reliable shooter. Now, he’s earned a spot with the Warriors.
With a two-way contract, Plowden may continue to play in the G League but could also be called up to the main roster throughout the 2024-25 season. This is particularly plausible as the Warriors are adjusting their roster, seeking contributions from younger players.
So far, the Warriors haven’t made significant moves during the offseason, focusing instead on developing rising stars like Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga.
Will Plowden become one of the young talents aiding the Warriors in the upcoming season? He will need to continue impressing during the Summer League to justify the Warriors’ decision to sign him to this two-way deal.
