Sad News: Just In Ohio State Confirm Departure Of Another Top Talented Star

Officially, Jamison Battle is a member of the NBA.

The Toronto Raptors signed former Ohio State forward Battle to an NBA contract on Tuesday, having previously given him the chance to play for their NBA Summer League squad.
After scoring 23 points in the Raptors’ first two Summer League games, Battle was signed to a contract. In just 14:38 of play, he scored 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, one rebound, one assist, and the Raptors defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 94-69 in their Summer League debut. Battle led the Raptors to an 84-81 victory over the Denver Nuggets in their second Summer League game on Sunday. He finished with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, one rebound, one assist, and a team-high plus-minus of 16.

According to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet, Battle’s contract with the Raptors is an exhibit 10 agreement, which has a one-year minimum and a bonus of up to $75,000 if Battle is cut free and joins Raptors 905, Toronto’s NBA G League affiliate.

Battle received his NBA shot after finishing his only season at Ohio State with 15.3 points per game and a 43.3% field goal percentage. The Minnesota native started his undergraduate career at George Washington, where he played for two years before transferring to the Golden Gophers, where he finished his eligibility as a Buckeye.

Battle will go on in Summer League with the Raptors, who take on the Utah Jazz and another former Ohio State forward, Brice Sensabaugh, on ESPN2 on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
