**Five-Star Receiver Commits to Tennessee**
Tennessee made a significant recruiting gain on Saturday by securing a commitment from five-star receiver Travis Smith Jr. from Georgia. Initially considered a likely pick for Georgia, a final official visit to Tennessee clinched his decision for the Volunteers.
Smith stands at 6-4 and weighs 200 pounds. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is ranked 113th nationally in the class of 2025, 16th among receivers, and 14th in Georgia. On3 ranks him higher, placing him as the 59th overall player in the class.
The Atlanta native chose Tennessee over Auburn, Alabama, and Georgia. Smith took official visits to all his finalists in June, following several visits to Knoxville over the past year. He received his Tennessee offer last September and attended games against Texas A&M and Georgia shortly after.
Smith adds a sizable presence to Tennessee’s class, filling a need for a bigger receiver. Known for his prowess in contested catches rather than elite speed, Smith excels at outmaneuvering defenders for the ball.
Smith is Tennessee’s 17th commitment for the 2025 cycle, boosting the Volunteers to No. 11 in the overall class rankings, according to 247Sports.
