Done Deal: Mavericks Re-Sign Another Top Experienced Star To Two-Way Contract

Brandon Williams, a guard, has been re-signed by the Dallas Mavericks to a Two-Way contract. The deal’s terms were not revealed in accordance with team policy.

Williams (6-1, 190) has played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Mavericks for 41 games (16 starts), averaging 8.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 18.4 minutes. In his 40 regular-season G League appearances, he has made 36 starts for the Westchester Knicks, College Park Skyhawks, and Texas Legends. In 32.1 minutes, he has averaged 20.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals.
The 24-year-old played in 17 games for the Mavericks last season, averaging 3.2 points and 1.0 assists in 6.6 minutes per game. He originally signed a Two-Way contract with the team on December 28, 2023. In seven games (five starts) that he participated in, he averaged 24.1 points (.477 FG%,.875 FT%), 5.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 31.0 minutes for the Legends 2023–24. In a victory over the G League Ignite on February 27, Williams produced his second career triple-double (33 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists). Two days later, on March 2, he scored a career-high 46 points in a victory over the G League South Bay Lakers.


Williams participated in 14 G League games (13 starts) with the Osceola Magic during the 2023 Showcase Cup before signing with Dallas halfway through the 2023–24 season. In 31.9 minutes, he averaged 22.4 points (.479 FG%,.376 3FG%,.833 FT%), 4.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.6 steals.

The former guard for Arizona was not selected in the NBA Draft of 2021, and he signed a rookie contract with Westchester in 2021–2022. On December 26, 2021, Williams signed a 10-day contract with Portland; on February 22, 2022, he signed a Two-Way deal. In addition, Williams’ 2022–2023 season with College Park saw him partner up with Mavericks guard AJ Lawson.
