Before making his commitment announcement on Saturday, four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine informed Chad Simmons of On3 that he is leaning toward Miami and LSU.
The football teams from LSU and Miami are in the running for a blue-chip cornerback for the second time this week. Jaboree Antoine, a four-star wide receiver, told Chad Simmons of On3 that, in advance of his commitment announcement on Saturday, he has decided between Miami and LSU.
For five-star CB D.J. Pickett, LSU defeated Oregon and Miami on Wednesday. At 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday, Antoine will make his statement. Before Antoine’s pledge on Saturday, Miami is trending for him, according to On3 National Recruiting Writer and Assistant Managing Editor Keegan Pope’s article on Friday.
Miami has a 63.9 percent probability of getting an Antoine commitment, while LSU has a 33.4 percent chance, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The only 247Sports crystal ball for Antoine is to LSU, which is the day after the Tigers decommit. According to Canes Insight, “the Canes continue to feel confident” in Antoine’s hiring.
Prior to Pickett’s commitment announcement on Wednesday, most predictions indicated that the five-star talent would pledge to Oregon. Miami was thought to be a backup plan. Much to the astonishment of most pundits, Pickett committed to LSU. Between LSU and Miami, Antoine’s commitment appears to be more equal.
Prior to Antoine’s commitment announcement on Saturday, Pope reports that Simmons and Florida State recruiting insider Michael Langston recorded selections in the RPM for Miami in Antoine’s favor. According to On3’s Industry Rankings, Antoine is the ninth wide receiver, the 87th prospect, and the second player in Louisiana.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Antoine is ranked as the 71st prospect, eighth CB, and second player in Louisiana. At 6’1 and 170 pounds, Antoine has the length that the Miami coaching staff is envious of. Three-star Timothy Merritt at CB and four-star prospect Chris Ewald had previously committed to Miami.
According to 247Sports rankings, Miami’s class is presently ranked ninth, while On3 ranks it eleventh. If Antoine commits, Miami would jump up to eighth place in the 247Sports composite rankings, surpassing Oklahoma. Antoine would be the 2025 Miami commit with the second-highest ranking, behind safety Hylton Stubbs.
