Sam Turner, a three-star recruit from Georgia Tech, is scheduled to visit the Plains on July 27 for Big Cat Weekend, the biggest Auburn football recruiting event of the summer, according to information released by Auburn Live earlier this week.
Turner, a native of Decatur, Georgia, is rated as the #54 recruit out of Peach State and the #74 wide receiver in the recruiting class of 2025. On June 9, he made his commitment to Georgia Tech; however, later that month, Auburn football extended an offer to him following his impressive camp efforts.
He has visited both Georgia Tech and BYU on official trips, and this Big Cat Weekend visit will mark his second trip to the Plains. Sam Turner might flip with only a little prodding from the Tigers.

Hugh Freeze, the head coach of Auburn football, has maintained that a large portion of the squad’s talent is extremely young, but he hopes that in his second season on the Plains, fans will witness an improved team. Even so, fans are ready for improvement following three years of declining records and a dismal first year under Freeze.
Freeze asserts that the Tigers improved their roster throughout the winter and that there is a stronger bond among the coaching staff than there was in the previous season, which suggests a better strategy going into the 2024 campaign, even though he cannot promise that talent will transfer to on-field success.
According to Auburn Rivals, Freeze stated, “I think if you look at my track record everywhere… we’ve had pretty good jumps from year one to year two.” “I can’t speak for other programs or how they accomplished it, but right now in our building, there’s a chemistry that I believe is giving our players some confidence.” I feel like the football team has greater confidence. Without a doubt, I feel better at ease.
“I know I’ve said this a hundred times, and I don’t mean any offense to anyone, but I feel more at ease in this place. That should instill confidence in our team so that we can perform admirably in pivotal situations and on crucial downs and see the desired development.
The Tigers’ 2024 campaign will begin on August 31 at Jordan-Hare Stadium when they visit Alabama A&M.
