The Tigers outlasted Duke and Georgia, among others, to land the 6-foot-3, 245-pound versatile defensive lineman from Greensboro

Clemson is back in the hunt after a grueling 44 days without a victory.

Bryce Davis, a four-star defensive lineman from Greensboro, North Carolina, became the 14th promise in Clemson’s 2025 class when he committed to the Tigers on Saturday afternoon. Despite receiving official visits from South Carolina, Duke, and Georgia throughout the summer, he decided to attend the Tigers.

According to 247Sports, Davis is the No. 64 player in the country and the No. 9 DL in the cycle.

“I love the people,” Davis told Anna Adams of 247Sports. Every time I get on campus there, there’s something unique about it. It seems natural to me. I have a fantastic rapport with Coach Rumph. In addition, Coach Eason. Also, Coach Swinney. I get along well with every member of that crew. Additionally, I get along well with the players. I like how they would develop me and use me in that plan.”
Davis is the latest addition to a talented collection of defensive lineman. The four players who commit to Clemson in its 2025 class—four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams (ranked No. 5), four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell (ranked No. 6), four-star defensive lineman Ari Watford (ranked No. 6 EDGE), and now Davis—all play close to the line of scrimmage.

Thanks to the commitment, 247Sports currently has the Tigers’ class ranked ninth. Prior to his statement on Saturday, Clemson had fallen all the way to No. 15.

For a while, Georgia was the clear favorite, but the Bulldogs chose to back off after piling on talent at similar spots. Duke, which was purportedly his parents’ #1 pick because to its academic reputation and close proximity to home, became available as a result. But in the end, Davis made the choice, and he decided that Clemson was the right program for him.
