BREAKING: Houston Texans Sign Super Bowl Champion Running Back…….

A Super Bowl champion and seasoned running back were signed by the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon, strengthening their offensive backfield.
The Houston Texans have made the decision to increase competition in their offensive backfield three days into training camp. Aaron Wilson of KPRC broke the initial news that the Texans have signed veteran running back Cam Akers on Sunday afternoon.

Akers was acquired by the team the day after he worked out with them on Saturday morning during their third training session as a Florida State University prospect.
The Texans now have a few players to bolster their rushing assault with the arrival of Akers. As Houston’s starting two backs, Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce have assumed leadership roles. But Akers will have to contend with players like Jawhar Jordan, British Brooks, and Dare Ogunbowale.

The main objective here, according to offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, is for everyone to win. “Winning is everyone’s ultimate objective. And I believe you can feed everyone if you have the proper personnel and a team that genuinely care about achieving that.”In the end, winning is truly all that matters. Everyone will receive the ball and their stats. And anyhow, we’re incredibly empowered right now to do whatever it takes to win any given week—I believe I mentioned this throughout the offseason. And as coaches and players, that is all we can ask for.”

The Los Angeles Rams selected Akers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, marking the start of his career. When the Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, he was a part of the team. Akers was dealt to the Minnesota Vikings in September after serving four seasons with the team. The running back, 25, had two torn Achilles. His most recent occurred in November during the Vikings’ Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
