Done Deal: Top Talented Highly Rated Star Commits To FSU Over LSU And Georgia

**BREAKING: FSU Football Secures Blue-Chip Texas Wide Receiver Daylan McCutcheon**

The Seminoles have successfully landed top-100 wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon, beating out USC and Texas for his commitment. Florida State continues its strong momentum on the recruiting trail as mid-July approaches. The Seminoles have significantly revamped their 2025 class recently and show no signs of slowing down.

On Saturday afternoon, four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon announced his commitment to FSU, choosing them over finalists USC, Texas, Ohio State, and SMU. This marks a significant addition as the Seminoles acquire a blue-chip prospect from Texas.

Head coach Mike Norvell and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans have been pursuing McCutcheon for over a year. Their persistence paid off after securing the final official visit with McCutcheon last month.

McCutcheon, a standout at Lovejoy High School, is coming off a junior season where he caught 94 passes for 1,430 yards and 20 touchdowns, along with two kickoff return touchdowns. He also excels in track and field, with personal bests of 11.54 seconds in the 100-meter and 22.57 seconds in the 200-meter.

McCutcheon is highly regarded as one of the top wide receivers in his class. Despite not being physically imposing, his elite athleticism, game-changing ability in the open field, and strong hands make him a formidable player. His film showcases impressive one-handed catches and elusive runs after the catch. He has the versatility to play both outside and in the slot at the college level.

With McCutcheon’s commitment, Florida State now has 12 verbal pledges in their #Tribe25 class. This addition moves the Seminoles from No. 24 to No. 16 in the national recruiting rankings, marking their first top-20 appearance this year.

FSU now boasts two wide receiver commitments in the 2025 class with McCutcheon and four-star CJ Wiley. The program continues to target other top prospects, including four-stars Vernell Brown, Koby Howard, Malik Clark, and Dallas Wilson (Oregon).

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound McCutcheon is ranked as the No. 93 overall prospect, the No. 14 wide receiver, and the No. 18 recruit in Texas for the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
