Breaking: Just In Another Top Experienced Vancouver Canucks Star Accept A Deal Worth $54.25 million With Rivals

Bruins Sign  to 7-Year, $54.25 Million Contract: Sources

The Boston Bruins have secured Elias Lindholm with a seven-year, $52.5 million contract, according to league sources. Lindholm, 29, addresses the Bruins’ need for a center. In the 2022-23 season with the Calgary Flames, the right-shot center scored 42 goals and 40 assists in 82 games.

Lindholm is expected to potentially serve as the Bruins’ No. 1 center, likely alongside David Pastrnak. This move could see Pavel Zacha transitioning to left wing, allowing Charlie Coyle to center the second line with Brad Marchand and Trent Frederic on the wings. Morgan Geekie and Matt Poitras are contenders to center the third line.

The Canucks had valued Lindholm enough to trade their 2024 first-round pick, Andrei Kuzmenko, Hunter Brzustewicz, Joni Jurmo, and a 2024 fourth-round pick to Calgary for him. However, Lindholm did not meet the Canucks’ expectations, scoring six goals and six assists in 26 games with an average ice time of 17:42 per game.

Lindholm was originally selected as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2013 draft.
