As September approaches, this looks to be another big recruiting weekend for Tennessee. To finish their 2025 class, the Volunteers have been in the running for a few elite prospects; two of them will be back on campus this weekend.
Among them will be Da’Saahn Brame, a four-star tight end. After a close contest, Brame selected Oregon over Tennessee last month, but it looks like the fight isn’t quite done yet.
Brame is 6 feet 6 inches and weighs 235 pounds. 247Sports ranks the Kansas native as the 102nd best player in the class. He is the nation’s fifth-ranked tight end prospect.
Brame’s shift to Tennessee was predicted by On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons earlier this week. Now that Brame, David Sanders, a five-star offensive tackle, and a few more players have returned to campus, it appears like the likelihood of a flip is quite strong.
Four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer previously committed to Tennessee; his offer was received in January. Of course, the Volunteers would want to consider more candidates for the role. Right now, redshirt freshman Ethan Davis and junior Holden Staes represent
Tennessee.
Brame is thought of almost as a better receiving potential and probably wouldn’t be limited to a tight end position. His 13 receiving touchdowns in the previous season at the prep level show that he is a large guy who might be useful in the red zone.
Tennessee, which according to 247Sports is ranked 10th in the nation, now has 18 commitments in their 2025 class. Sanders and Brame together might propel the Volunteers into the top five.
