Auburn football continued its impressive recruiting efforts over the weekend, focusing this time on special teams. On Sunday, John Alan McGuire announced his decision to commit to Auburn through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
McGuire was among several recruits visiting Auburn for the Big Cat Weekend event. During his visit, he received an offer from the Tigers and decided to commit just over a day later.
Entering his senior year at Thompson High School, McGuire is highly regarded in the national rankings. He is recognized as the second-best punter in the country and the top kicker or punter in Alabama, as per Kohl’s Kicking Camps. Additionally, McGuire holds the position of the No. 21 kicker nationwide. His commitment marks the first time a kicker or punter has pledged to Auburn for the 2025 recruiting class.
