On Sunday, an inside offensive lineman from New Orleans committed to the LSU football team.
Three-star prospect Jalan Chapman of Warren Easton announced his decision to attend LSU, making him the third recruit to commit to the LSU signing class of 2026.
Chapman is one of Louisiana’s top 12 rising juniors and a top-400 national prospect, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He informed On3 that offensive line coach Brad Davis and running backs coach Frank Wilson of LSU led his recruitment efforts.
New Orleans is also the hometown of the other two players who committed to LSU’s 2026 class. Richard Anderson, a four-star defensive lineman for Edna Karr, and Jakai Anderson, a three-star safety for McDonough 35, both committed in June.
According to 247Sports, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked fourth in the nation. Following the recent pledges of four-star receiver Derek Meadows from Nevada and five-star cornerback DJ Pickett from Florida, it shot up the rankings.
