The Buffalo Bills have bolstered their safety depth by signing veteran Kareem Jackson to a one-year contract. Jackson, who has spent 15 seasons in the NFL, most recently with the Houston Texans, will don the No. 27 jersey for the Bills.
Head coach Sean McDermott revealed on Monday that Mike Edwards will be sidelined on a week-to-week basis due to a hamstring strain.
Throughout his career, Jackson has started 193 out of 203 regular-season games and participated in eight postseason contests.
His career includes stints with the Houston Texans (2010-18, 2023) and the Denver Broncos (2019-23), accumulating 954 tackles and 22 interceptions, with three of those picks returned for touchdowns.
Jackson, who was drafted by the Texans as the 20th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft from Alabama, was part of the Crimson Tide’s 2009 BCS National Championship team. He hails from Macon, GA.
To accommodate Jackson’s arrival, the Bills have released linebacker Shayne Simon.
